I really like this quote, and it's from the father of my favorite modality (ACT). Through so much of my work over the past 12+ years I have noticed a recurring theme: a need for balance, love, and finding what works for the individual (versus being ruled by all the "shoulds" we are haunted by). I enjoy helping clients shift toward a more loving, compassionate, and accepting view of themselves and learning to trust in their own wisdom to find balance that works for them.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

A Cognitve Behavioral Approach

ACT is a third-wave cognitive behavioral, client-centered approach that focuses on increasing cognitive flexibility and value-driven action. It is an evidence-based practice that research has shown is effective in treating a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and borderline personality disorder. This is my primary therapeutic approach. I will work to help you defuse from your thoughts, make room for uncomfortable emotions, and live in closer alignment with your personal values. I am a skilled deckhand to help you find your guiding constellations and help you more effectively captain your ship of life.
